Kolayat is a town in Bikaner, and it is very famous for the Kolayat Lake and the Kolayat fair. There are several temples near the lake and the most popular one is the Kapil Muni temple.

It is believed that Kapil Muni, an incarnation of the Lord Vishnu, meditated on the ghat here. One of the most famous festivals of Rajasthan, the Kolayat Fair draws thousands of visitors from across the country every year. It is conducted in the months of November or December, depending on the Hindu calendar.
